
A belief in good health through good information is a driving force behind the work of Magee Womancare International, the international outreach arm of Magee-Womens Hospital and Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. MWI's Eastern European network of more than 30 women’s health education centers offers programs in preventive health to more than 100,000 women and girls annually, supplemented by original educational health brochures, instructional videos, leadership training for health professionals, and a nonprofit management training curriculum.

Magee Womancare International was established in 1992 to improve health care conditions for women and infants in the former Soviet Union. MWI now brings educational programs and technical assistance to Albania, Belarus, Estonia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.
